Please
find below a photograph, taken last month, of a grand marriage ceremony in the Indonesian
Catholic Cathedral... with 12 bishops running the ceremony, five of whom
from Vatican.
Would you please provide some comment on this... ?
This
event had made big news among Catholics here considering the lavishness
of the ceremony and the background of the bride and bridegroom family, billionaires.
Do you consider it proper in line with your vision of a poor church for the poor?
The following is a link of the Facebook discussion in Indonesian: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=186056288417244&id=100010386228288&ref=bookmarks
===================
Separately, there is another sad news running in Indonesian lay media, the impending divorce of a notable artist who was wedded 3 - 4 years ago in a Catholic church with the blessing of 5 bishops and 12 pastors.
If the blessing of 17 pastors later turns to be not enough to hold the marriage (although I do hope and pray they could maintain the marriage), I do not know what will run in people's mind.
Please comment in a way that all Catholics in Indonesia know your point of view... Perhaps in your homily?
Thank you my dear Pope,
Eduardus (Eddie) Nugroho
